Our Injury Prevention Programs
Reducing injuries, illness … and COSTS!
The goal of implementing TIPS Programs and Services is to increase awareness, reduce soft-tissue injuries, and improve health and safety for your workers. Through education, body mechanics training, individual and job site assessments, TIPS services are designed to reduce illness and injury, thereby reducing costs and lost time associated with injuries and illness.
Inspire Wellness Program
Inspire is the wellness program designed and offered through TIPS. The Inspire program can be implemented in conjunction with the injury prevention services provided and can be implemented instead of, or in addition to, suggested corrective programs.
The Inspire program includes:
- Weight Management

- Nutrition for Injury Prevention & Wellness
- Cardio-fit Lifestyle
- Goal Setting & Success Enhancement
- Fitness & Weight Challenges
- Fitness Classes
- Individual Employee Coaching
Supervisor Training
This training is designed to enhance supervisor understanding of soft tissue injuries and program ‘buy-in’, which will lead to increased participation rates among the employees. This can include, but is not limited to, additional training over the Active Stretching program, body mechanics basics, job site assessment and biomechanical correction.
Train the Trainer
Courses designed specific to your needs. The program is designed to teach safety managers how to effectively deliver soft tissue prevention training to employees from a “what’s in it for me” perspective that really works.
Your company and your employees will benefit from the material and the approach of this sensible, real-life training. We will examine the process of behavior and habit change and how to successfully integrate changes that affect lifestyle, health and injury potential.
We will cover how to provide exercises and body mechanics training to groups that are made up of both physically healthy and physically challenged individuals. We will also learn how to “sell” behavior change with the understanding that if your employees do not “buy it”, they are not going home with it. We will practice using an effective approach to body mechanics corrections and enhancements that will make sense to the user.
Active Stretching
It’s fast and effective. In the same amount of time it takes to stretch approximately 20 muscles with a typical stretching program, our Active Stretching program addresses virtually all muscles and joints. Additional benefits of Active Stretching include:
- Combining a warm-up and stretching in one
- Increased circulation to muscles and joints
- Focus on muscle specific stretching required for key worksite tasks
- Decreased effect of vibration on tissues by contracting and relaxing the muscles
- Resetting the normal pattern of muscle contractions to reduce muscle spasms
- Improved neuromuscular communication and kinesthetic awareness
- Use of whole movement systems, which are more specific to your body’s functional intelligence
Our clients overwhelmingly report that they prefer Active Stretching over traditional forms of stretching. The TIPS Active Stretches can be done within everyday activities, making it easy for employees to be successful and consistent—leading to results and improved motivation.
Body Mechanics Training and Positive Peer Assessment
We teach your employees to use improved movement patterns, positioning, and reduced joint force related to their specific tasks and individual needs. Areas examined include, but are not limited to:
Walking Repetitive motion
Desk ergonomics Hand tool use
Lifting and bending Overhead work
Machine operation Slips, trips, and falls
Shoveling Getting on and off equipment
Slips, Trips & Fall Prevention
The TIPS Team will focus on making changes within our internal environment (body) to decrease slip, trip and fall accidents. The program includes information on posture, exercises to help enhance balance and changes to gait/walking patterns that can help reduce slips, trip and fall accidents.
Positioned For Safety: How To Use Your Body
Without Using It Up
TIPS addresses the correct way to use the body, ensuring stresses placed on the body in everyday activities are helpful and not harmful. Body posture and positioning, as well as adding simple movements such as lifting/bending with correct posture will help increase strength, flexibility and functionality of the body. Habit change is also addressed to help people make posture/positioning change permanent.
Positioned For Safety: Low Back Injury Prevention Series
This is an additional “Train the Trainer” course designed specifically for low back injury prevention.
Corrective Movement Assessment
This is an assessment TIPS will do to identify vulnerable joints and muscles and offer simple corrections to help prevent injuries and reduce joint stress. It consists of both static and dynamic evaluations.
In the static evaluation we look at the individual standing from the front, side and back to determine areas of stress on the joints and muscles. In the dynamic evaluation we have the individual perform an overhead squat exercise while we evaluate them from the front, side and back.
This shows how the body reacts to movement and identifies areas that may be inflexible, underworked, overworked, or need strengthening. From the assessment we can give them stretching, self massage or strengthening exercises that can help them feel better and allow their body to function better.
Gait (Walk) Assessment
TIPS can do assessments on the way people walk to help them get rid of minor aches and pains, decrease stress on joints, improve muscle strength, and improve overall body health. All of our staff members have been through gait training and are able to assess an individual’s gait by looking at all body segments (head, shoulders, hips, knees, feet, etc.) while they walk to determine corrections that can be made in the person’s gait.
Sprains & Strains: The Silver Bullet
This is a presentation that gets at the core contributors to sprain and strain type injuries. It discusses positioning and movement to correct compensation patterns that people commonly have. These corrections that are made can help improve large muscle function in order to reduce joint stress and pressure.
Video Development
TIPS can create videos that are tailored to your type of work, using your site and equipment. Within the video we would discuss the correct body mechanics to get the job done effectively while minimizing stress on the body.
